Won Affirmance On Behalf Of The Child To Order Terminating Mother’s Parental Rights.

Matter of Walter D.H. (Zaire L.), 91 AD3d 950 (2nd Dept. 2012)

In this appeal by the mother of an order terminating parental rights where I represented the child on appeal, the Second Department accepted my argument that despite the mother’s recent efforts to avail herself of the services offered to her, the child has bonded with the foster mother, who has consistently provided for him for most of his life, and it would not be in the child’s best interests to prolong foster care and thus, the Family Court properly concluded that it was in the child’s best interests to terminate the mother’s parental rights and free him for adoption by his foster parent.
